Jeremy O’Guin has been in the trade compliance industry for more than 15 years. He started with Bertling Logistics in 2012 as Americas Export Compliance Officer, and is now the Regional Trade Compliance Manager for the group’s North and South American operations. O’Guin has consulted for many companies to help them develop policies and procedures in compliance with U.S. trade regulations. Prior to joining Bertling, he worked in the aviation industry as a traffic manager and licensing officer. O’Guin is active on industry education panels including the Houston International Compliance Professionals Association, and he has received recognition from the Department of Commerce’s Office of Export Enforcement for his assistance in multiple investigations.
In business since 1865, Bertling Logistics is a privately owned company with more than 90 offices worldwide. Bertling’s logistics activities encompass project forwarding, oil and gas and mining resupply logistics, and general forwarding. Additionally, the company is very active in airfreight forwarding, ocean charters, integrated IT solutions, supply chain management, and U.S. truck brokerage. Bertling’s ship-owning and brokerage activities include ownership and management of a fleet of modern 35,000, 50,000 and 82,000 dwt bulk carriers as well as a worldwide traditional ship and cargo brokerage business.
