IPA Steel Terminal is the only dedicated steel and breakbulk terminal in Altamira. A multipurpose, modern cargo-handling facility located in the free zone of the port of Altamira, Mexico, it provides excellent rail and road links to Monterrey, Monclova, San Luis Potosi, Queretaro, Guadalajara and Mexico City. The terminal has a 273 meter quay, 12+ meter draft, 11,000 square meters of cargo space, 200,000 square meters of open storage space, onsite rail track, and two 100 tonne cranes with a combined crane capacity of 150 tonnes for tandem heavy-lifts. Since it began operation in 2009, more than 6.6 million tonnes of steel has been handled through the facility.
